LATimes.com | By Susan Stapleton – A Branson favorite is headed to Las Vegas bringing country, classical, Broadway and contemporary sounds. The Texas Tenors are set to perform at the Suncoast Showroom June 26-28.
This classical crossover trio only formed in 2009 and earned national recognition on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” The Texas Tenors finished as a top four finalist in the fourth season of the show, making them the highest-ranking vocal group in the show’s history.
Country music singer JC Fisher, pop singer Marcus Collins and opera singer John Hagen’s self-titled debut album “The Texas Tenors” was released in 2009 with songs such as “Nessun dorma” and “La donna è mobile.” Two years later, the group re-mastered the album and renamed it “Country Roots: Classical Sound” to include new material.
By 2010, the group was touring through more than 20 countries worldwide. Now the trio performs more than 60 concerts each fall at the Starlite Theatre in Branson, Mo., where they were named 2011 and 2012 critic’s choice group and ensemble of the year.
Their second studio album, titled “You Should Dream,” was released in December 2013 and features “God Bless the USA,” “Unchained Melody,” “Wild Horses,” along with two original songs and a 65-piece orchestra. That same year, “The Texas Tenors: You Should Dream” special aired on PBS.
Tickets start at $15.95.
