SheboyganPress.com | Wisconsin – The Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts will welcome The Texas Tenors back to the stage at 7:30 p.m. on April 23.
The Texas Tenors are a classical crossover trio vocal group formed in 2009 by country music singer JC Fisher, pop singer Marcus Collins and opera singer John Hagen.
They were one of the top four finalists in the fourth season of “America’s Got Talent,” and were the highest ranking vocal group in the show’s history.
The trio has performed more than 600 shows in more than 20 countries, including the U.K. and China. They also filmed a PBS special, performing songs from their second album “You Should Dream,” which aired in November 2013.
Fisher has entertained audiences around the world for the past 15 years. After earning his bachelor’s degree in music, Fisher traveled to Italy where he sang in the Puccini Festival under the direction of acclaimed Italian maestro Lorenzo Malfatti.
Sailing the high seas aboard more than 75 cruise ships worldwide, Fisher created a program with many different genres of music and world class arrangements, which eventually led to his idea of forming The Texas Tenors with his two best friends.
Collins learned how to sing by emulating his favorite radio artists like Garth Brooks and George Michael before receiving classical training in college.
In addition to numerous talent shows, fairs and cruise ships, Collins has also performed in New York City with the cast of “Hairspray,” Off-Broadway’s “Altar Boyz,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and in “Forever Plaid.”
Hagen has received many awards and accolades throughout his career, including finalist in the New Jersey Opera Association of Verismo Opera competition held at Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Opera auditions regional finalist and winner of numerous competitions mounted by the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
