“The Texas Tenors’ love for the Classics goes beyond Music. Their one of a kind 2011 RSC GT Mustang will make automotive history.”
Top 10 Billboard artist The Texas Tenors, known from the 2009 season of America’s Got Talent and their PBS Special “You Should Dream,” often take a modern approach to singing the Classics. In 2015, JC Fisher of The Texas Tenors will take a similar approach to the automotive industry by transforming his 2011 Mustang into the king of American muscle cars, the 1967 RSC GT Mustang. The finished prototype of this limited production vehicle will be featured on the world’s largest automotive stage in Las Vegas at the 2015 SEMA Show in November and has been admitted into the 2015 SEMA Ignited Battle of the Builders competition. Taking on the transformation challenge is Retrobuilt, a private company in Nixa, Missouri whose line up also includes the Retrobuilt 1969 Shelby GT500CS and the Retrobuilt 1969 Mustang Fastback.
The idea of taking a new Mustang and retro building it to resemble the vintage classic was so impressive, even Carroll Shelby took notice (before his passing in 2012). Transforming the 2011 Mustang begins with stripping the car exterior and interior down to the metal chassis leaving the engine and engine compartment (and car warranty with Ford Automotive) intact. Build of the new exterior begins using original ’67 fenders, Sport Slats and bumpers but requires complete customization of the body molding as the chassis of a modern Mustang is four inches wider than the original 1967 chassis. The hood, front fenders, doors, quarters and rear deck lid are all made of fiberglass, leaving the roof as the only original piece on the cars exterior. On the inside, a custom deluxe leather interior with vertical inserts will cover the power bucket seats along with complete custom upholstery. The final piece of the puzzle happens under the hood. Starting with the stock 5.0‐liter Coyote engine running 425HP from the factory, power and performance will be boosted with the help of a ProCharger supercharger, Magnaflow exhaust, custom long tube headers by Kooks and a Diablosport tuning system. The results speak for themselves increasing power to an impressive 900HP
Ozarks Hydrographics LLC was able to take on the task to add a little bit of flare to the mustang. The OHG staff, also located in Nixa MO, transformed the under hood & interior parts to a custom carbon fiber appearance. These accents are displayed throughout the car and help take this unique build to the next level. Come check us out at Ozarks Hydrographics Booth 91323 in the Performance Pavilion to view this cool mustang..
