
The Texas Tenors are back on America’s Got Talent and, this time, they’re out to prove why they should win this time around in the Champions edition of America’s Got Talent. Their first appearance on the show they won over the audience and judges and earned fourth place. But it was country singer Kevin Skinner who eventually won that particular season.
America’s Got Talent is back for a new season with AGT: The Champions. The season premiered last January 7, 2019, on NBC with 9.97 million viewers tuning in to the show. The Champions edition features winners, finalists, and show favorites from past seasons of America’s Got Talent and the international franchises of the Got Talent show. Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel return to the show as AGT judges while this edition has a new host in Terry Crews from Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Some of the champions competing for the title include rocker Courtney Hardwin (AGT Season 13, finalist), shadow theater group, Attraction (Das Supertalent Season 6, 7th place, Britain’s Got Talent Season 7, winner), singer-ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer (AGT Season 12, winner), jump roping dance crew DDF Crew (Holland’s Got Talent Season 5, winner, Belgium’s Got Talent Season 4, semi-finalist), pianist, percussionist and remixer Tokio Myers (Britain’s Got Talent Season 11, winner), DJ Arch Jnr (South Africa’s Got Talent Season 6, winner), The Texas Tenors (America’s Got Talent Season 4, fourth place), Angelica Hale (America’s Got Talent Season 12, 2nd place), and Susan Boyle (Britain’s Got Talent Season 3, 2nd place).
In this edition, with only six episodes, 10 different acts from around the world perform every week. A superfan from all 50 states will decide who wins the week’s round. The judges and host also get to make their choice by pressing the Golden Buzzer. Two champions win each week to advance to the finals, where fans determine who will win America’s Got Talent: Champions.
The Texas Tenors first appeared on America’s Got Talent during Season 4 in 2009. The Texas Tenors, a classical crossover trio vocal group, is composed of pop singer Marcus Collins, country singer JC Fisher, and opera singer John Hagen. During their audition, they sang Mountain Music by Alabama, which made them advance to the next round. During the finals, they sang My Way by Frank Sinatra but eventually lost to country singer Kevin Skinner.

In 2009, they released their debut album, The Texas Tenors, which included the four songs they sang during their stint at America’s Got Talent, plus a few other selections that showed off their talent. In 2013, they released their next album, You Should Dream, produced by Academy Award and Grammy winner Nigel Wright, which earned them five Emmy Awards nominations and three Emmy wins in 2014. They followed it up with their third album, Rise, which debuted at the number one spot on the Classic Albums chart, and the number five spot on Country Albums chart.
One of the top 50 acts in the world, they will be celebrating their 10 years together in the industry this 2019 with a 10th Anniversary Concert Tour.
